In this essay I have chosen to take a closer look at Gold figure foils (Swedish ?guldgubbar?), find their context and analyze it. I have analyzed some earlier studies about Gold figure foils that were found in Scandinavia.The focus of my study is based on the locations of the findings. Another important aspect is to discuss if the encountered Gold figure foils that were folded and cut looked like that due to intentional motives or not.My conclusion is that when it comes to the locations of the findings they are mostly found in houses irrespective of if it´s in a posthole, wall or house foundation.The other conclusion is that the Gold figure foils could have intentionally been manipulated before they ended up in the ground..

In this essay I have chosen to do a cursory study of the spread of the figural gold foils. Emanating from foremost the Vendel time (550 ? 800 e Kr) in the Scandinavian countries Norway, Sweden and Denmark. This paper deals with evaluating 3D-bootstrap for the mining company New Boliden in an attempt to revise their current method of calculating average gold riches in different areas. The purpose is to find one-sided 3D-bootstrap confidence bound of the average gold riches. There lacks well-defined theory behind using 3D-bootstrap, in this paper the variogram is used as an estimate of dependencies between the observations, and the block length is chosen to be higher than this estimate. In aid of this, a simulated data material is conducted to check the validity of 3D-bootstrap in a controlled area where the theoretical value is known. The results are inconclusive, and further studies are needed..

Babies born prematurely are deprived of normal sensorimotor stimulation when placed in an artificial environment, the incubator. The aim of this project was to design a series of products that could promote the baby?s emotional and neurological development, and to facilitate parental bonding. The products designed in this project has a theoretical basis on the research available today on cognitive and emotional development in children born prematurely. They were developed in close cooperation with a group of parents and nurses in a neonatal intensive care unit.Presence is a product collection for developmental care, consisting of a mattress, a figure and a necklace. The mattress has vibration sensors that transfer the mother?s heart beat and speakers with recorded heartbeat and her voice.

The environmental assessment system Miljöbyggnad is a Swedish system initiated by Bygga-Bo-Dialogen to assess buildings with regards to three main areas; ?Energy?, ?Indoor climate? and ?Materials?. A building can obtain three different classifications depending on how well it manages to meet the demands. GOLD is the highest classification and is followed by SILVER and BRONZE. The majority of the measures needed to comply with the demands are done during the design phase.

Climate change is an increasingly widely known concept. In the EU the construction sector is responsible for more than a third of the carbon dioxide emissions and 40 % of the total energy use. In Sweden, measures have been taken to prevent this climate change. By 16 targets, three of which can be linked to the construction sector, Sweden will reduce the negative trend. None of the three goals with relation to the construction sector will however be achieved before 2020.

The purpose of this essay is to study how the civil society can affect democracy in a country.

Evaluation of joint swelling is an important part of the orthopedic examination and can be used to follow a patient?s progress during rehabilitation and therapy. Usually a swelling is assessed by palpating the joint but a more objective, but still easy to use, method would be preferable.This study seeks to increase the knowledge in veterinary rehabilitation by validating four different measurement tools (three recognized and one novel) for the assessment of elbow joint swelling: palpation, tape measure (circumference and figure eight measurement), slide caliper (craniocaudal and mediolateral positioning) and tonometer. This was achieved by calculating the inter- and intra-rater reliability and correlating the results from the different measurements with each other.The methods with best inter- and intra-rater reliability as well as good correlation among themselves were shown to be slide caliper with craniocaudal positioning, circumference and figure eight. Additional studies, with a larger and more diverse material, ought to investigate these methods further..

Denna uppsats är ett förarbete för att formulera ett protokoll för provtagning och för bedömning av hygienstatus av ytvatten som ska användas för bevattning av frilandsgrödor. Studiens syfte var att beskriva hygienstatus hos ytvatten med hjälp av heterotrofa organismer vid 22°C, totalantal koliforma bakterier, fekala koliforma bakterier, Escherichia coli, fekala streptokocker och Salmonella spp. Erhållna resultat jämfördes med tyska DIN 19650 och kanadensiska Water Quality Criteria for Microbiological Indicators. Försöket gjordes i två odlingar och för varje odling genomfördes två provtagningsserier. En serie bestod av fem provtagningstillfällen vilka genomfördes inom en 30-dagarsperiod.
